Paperex 2019 The Worlds Largest Paper Conference

Indian Paper Industry is likely to grow @ 12% per annum for next 5 years and overall paper consumption is projected to increase to 24 million tonne in 2024-25 from 15 million tonnes currently.

World biggest Paper show ‘Paperex2019’ would be inaugurated by Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways of India and Shipping Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Government of India on 3rd December 2019.

World biggest Paper show ‘Paperex2019’ to be held in New Delhi from 3^rd December 2019 to 6^th December 2019. With 29 participants from the sate, there will be a special state pavilion from Maharashtra this time in Paperex 2019.

A curtain raiser of ‘Paperex 2019’, the 14th edition of the world’s largest international exhibition and conference of the Paper Industry was done in Mumbai.   There will be a special state pavilion from Maharashtra this time in which 29 Mills and few big listed companies are participating. NR Agarwal, Pudumjee Pulp, BILT etc are few of them. There are more than 300 MSME new companies from Maharasthra. which are coming first time to witness the world class Business to Business experience in this world’s biggest PAPER Show.

There are 49 running mills in Maharashtra producing close to 30 Lakhs tonne per annum of Paper. Paper exports in last 3 years grew from 660,000 tonne to 15,00, 000 tonne from India. Paper and allied industries generate close to 5 million jobs in India both directly and indirectly. Paper are mills pre-dominantly set up in rural areas, provide large-scale employment and lively hoods directly and indirectly to almost 50 lakhs people, majority are from lower income group of society i.e. marginal farmers, skilled and semi-skilled workers. Keeping in view of rising pollution levels, there is a special Session with in  emphasis on environment, Green Chemistry and recycling in the B2B conference within the exhibition.

While speaking at the curtain raiser  Mr J P Narain, VP, Indian Paper & Manufacturers Association and CEO of Century Paper said, “Paper industry is going through the transformation phase and few big paper company's are doing expansion to meet their region or product or category-specific demand. Overall paper consumption is projected to increase to 24 million tonnes in 2024-25 from 15 million tonnes currently. I believe there will be a consolidation within the industry, and we will see more players doing Merger & Acquisitions activity to complement each other.  Since it’s a manpower driven industry the same will generate jobs both directly and indirectly. Contributing to Nation's development, India's quality paper producers serve the need for Printing, writing, packaging, publishing, notebook and stationery sectors.”
